Your next digital marketing executive is going
to have a huge impact on your business, a potentially make or break impact. By 2021 we will be spending 120 billion dollars
a year in the US on digital marketing and your organization will either have the talent
to compete or it’s going to fall behind. At the end of the day right now, there’s
a huge talent gap in digital marketing. Only 8% of companies surveyed are happy that
their digital marketing team is performing at an optimal level so how do you know as
you’re going out and looking for a new executive in this area you’re able to find the right
talent. And for digital marketing as a whole and digital
marketing leadership emotional maturity is very important. It’s important in all areas of leadership
but its highlighted here and it’s highlighted because of the pace of change. So not only does somebody need to be comfortable
with that change they also need to be comfortable that someone younger than them may know something
they don’t. A great executive for digital marketing and
digital marketing leadership more importantly, really needs to understand the cutting edge
of where digital’s going. Not where it is today but where it’s going
in the next 5 or 10 years. They also need to understand how to lead and
mentor a team in many areas they may not have worked in themselves and they need to understand
