Kimmy’s 2014 Social Media Marketing Plan – Kimmy the Social Media Puppet – Social Media 2014

I am here with Kimmy today. We are going to
cover and we have some exciting things, first off that we want to cover. We want to talk
about, we’re going to be launching a lot of interviews with Google hangouts and launching
a podcast. And so if you want more information make sure that you’re learned on this, you
want to go to SocialMediaHangoutTime.com. But since it’s just you and I today what I
want to do is, first off have Kimmy say hi. Hi everybody, how are you today? Hey Kimmy. And we’re going to talk a little
about what she’s gonna changing 2014 with her marketing – what’s worked for her, you
know, talk about marketing plan for 2014 for her social media and her overall marketing.
So what I’ll do is ask her a few questions and then Kimmy go ahead and answer. Okay. I wanted to know what you’re going to add
to your marketing this year. What are you going to do differently that you did in 2013? Well, you know I didn’t spend a whole lot
of time doing any Facebook ads so I’d really like to spend more money on Facebook ads then
I can get into front more of my target market. And with all the changes in Facebook, I think
it’s important to have some more ad spent. So I am going to do the ads and then I am
going to use Google+ because I think it’d be fun to have interviews in my salon using
Google+ and we can talk to other salon owners, hair stylists I can interview and show them
how to do some coloring. That’s excellent and I ready today, just today
and I will put that in our YouTube channel just the article about small businesses using
Google+. They’re really starting to get on it and I think that it is becoming, you know,
a lot of techies were on it first, and it was just techies and social media people but
it’s becoming more of a necessity because Google is really, well they’ve basically forced
it. And so they’ve implemented every piece of the marketing with Google+, I think that’s
a wonderful idea. Yeah and you know you can even do it with
your cellphones so that’s really convenient, too. You got, yeah. The cellphone, that’s really
a good point because typically in my office so I didn’t even think about where it’s so
mobile that you can take it anywhere especially with your business with the small, with the
hair salon. And talking about the Facebook ad lets expand on that. Yes, the biggest talk
has been that reach has been down and the news feed is very very crowded. On of the
reasons that possibly happened over the holidays is because of so many people, so many business
owners spending a lot of money on their marketing during the holidays so really crowded the
news feed. But because the news feeds has become so crowded, it’s really hard to get
seen even by people who have launched an extra page. So I think that it is very important
to have some sort of ad budget for getting some posts out there, getting some promotions
out there and just really getting into the target market for additional people to find
your Facebook page. Great idea. Yep, it sure is. Good! So the second question is what do you want
to lose? What was it in 2013 that you felt like it was just a waste of your time? Well I don’t know if it’s a waste of my time
but I definitely was addicted to my mobile phone. I was checking Facebook and Twitter
and Instagram and spending way too much time in between cut and color. So I think I could
have accomplished more if I was focused and if I just scheduled time in to manage my Facebook
and my Instagram account. And you know what timer helps? Something like
you put a timer, start that timer and you say you know what, I am going to spend 15
minutes focusing on just connecting with others is an important piece, too. Not just posting
but connecting with others and focusing on “just business” even if it’s just 15 minutes
a day. Then you can go in at night and kind of you know mess, I say bed later night before
bed and scroll through and see what my friends are doing. But it’s just, you want to have
that focus time, I agree. Yep, I think that will help a lot. Alright, the last question, what are you going
to do the same? What was it that really really worked for your business in 2013 that you
plan to continue in 2014? Well, you know I like the Facebook and I’m
definitely going to stay on Facebook and I’m going to do Instagram and Pinterest. I love
the images. My client break about their hair. They take pictures of themselves and they
do their thing called selfie. And you know, I just can’t get coordinated enough to take
my own picture but anyway, I love to do pictures and I do before and after and then I can put
my logo on the picture so I’ll continue to do that. I just think that pictures are really
helpful especially on my business. Yeah, I think you are right on there. I believe
that it has, the selifes, the question is is that going to continue in 2014. I don’t
know but people are becoming tired of those. But as for the posting and pictures, I mean,
there’s hard to say if there’s going to be another avenue also even more past Instagram
and Pinterest and Facebook. But in Google+ is actually another image, really it’s about
images. too. So that’s my dig is I’m going to focus there. Yeah. You have those images that you can put on
all those sites and that’s testimonials right there and that’s your best seller. And that tool that you showed me awhile ago
called Canva that’s been fun because I can do my coupons on there. You and your coupons, I know. I love coupons. Well the other thing are you using that to
add your logo to the to all your images so you can just plot your logo right inside Canva,
too. Yep, mostly just my domain name but it works
great so it is fun. Great! Well thanks a lot for your time Kimmy
and I’m looking so forward to more interviews with some of the top social media people out
there and we’re going to have some fun. So thanks for your time! You’re welcome. Bye guys! Babye!
